brit: This year is the 40th anniversary of one of the most well-known logos in the world, the Nike logo. It’s truly remarkable how little has changed about this logo over the years. I also found it interesting that the logo cost a mere $35 to create back in 1971. A steal!
I particularly like this quote by designer, Katy Tisch, “I wish I could say it was the design of the Swoosh but I don’t think design is necessarily the winner as much as correct usage.”
I used to have to police partners of Google for not using our logo properly and feel quite comforted by this quote in knowing that all high-quality brands, designers, and marketers always do whatever they can to protect their identities.
